Guitar
for Kidz, Vol 1
Suitable
for classroom, group, or individual tuition, Guitar For Kidz
Vol 1 is not only a very successful book for young people
(7 to 12 yrs) but has proven a hit with more 'adult' students
too! (see testimonials)
Possibly
regarded as a "pre tutor-book" volume, it can be used for
either the Classical or Plectrum style of guitar playing -
classical right-hand fingering is notated throughout the book.
Focussing on note-reading of single line melodies in the 1st
position of the guitar (with some 2-part solos), these fun
tunes are practiced in duet form with the teacher who can
create any appropriate accompaniment from the chord symbols
under each line.
The
CD of the book also provides playalong accompaniments for
lesson demonstration and student home-practice.
This
is a book for absolute beginners, and takes about 12 months
to complete.
Guitar
for Kidz, Vol 2
The
purpose of Guitar For Kidz Vol 2 is to provide a selection
of Easy 2-Part solos that can be used to augment students'
formal classical tuition with familiar and recreational tunes
and melodies - students from Vol 1 may follow on their development
with this book. As
well, many of the pieces are designed to overcome specific
technical problems young children experience on the guitar.
Older and more experienced students will also benefit from
some of these musical arrangements.
The
book is set out in three distinct sections; Two Parts-Non
Coincidental Rest Stroke, Two Parts-Coincidental Free Stroke,
and Two Parts-Coincidental Rest Stroke.
Many
students use this book in conjunction with their core tuition
from a major tutor book given that simple solos are often
neglected or given insufficient time to mature in many larger
teaching books.
Guitar
for Kidz, Vol 3
Guitar
For Kidz Vol 3, subtitled Ensembles For Guitar, is a must
for any school or group situation where guitarists come together
to play music. A fundamental introduction to Ensemble playing
for young students in their first and second years of tuition,
the pieces are designed for group music-making despite the
limited vocabulary that beginners may possess during their
early days with the guitar.
Students
who know just the fretted notes of one string, or even only
the open strings, can all have a part to play in most of these
pieces. Simple percussion parts are provided in some songs
for those who may be unable to take on a guitar part.
The
CD of the book may be used to represent a hearing of each
piece as it might sound when fully rehearsed. Students can
also use it to practice their individual parts for any given
work in progress.
